With the publication of Bier
und Brot, the Wehners of Southeast Missouri, I though that the Wehner blog
had expired. I was wrong.
Each year Ste Genevieve,
Missouri, hosts Jour de Fete, a festival held the second full weekend in
August, (Jour de Fete) In 2023, Jour de Fete will be held 12 and 13 Aug. As part of the
proceedings, the Ste. Genevieve Project Pioneer, a nonprofit organization (Project Pioneer),
honors two families, French and German,
who helped found the town. In 2023, the Wehner Family, descendants of brothers Nicholas and Lorenz Wehner, will be one of the families honored. And why is Lorenz not pictured here? Bacause, apparently, no photo of Lorenz exists.
